About

Abida Ghalip

        Abida Ghalip; artist, painter, teacher, leader and most dearly, a mother.

        World renowned Uyghur artist, born in Xinjiang in December 1975. Abida is a professional painter of Xinjiang Painting Academy, and a member of  the China Artists Association; she has also been ranked a National Second Level artist. Crowned Vice President of China Mural Society, she also participates in other organizations such as the Xinjiang Artists Association, and is a director of the Xinjiang Oil Painting Society, as well as a being a constituent of the Oil Painting Art Committee.

         From 2000 to 2024, many of her oil paintings were selected for various national, autonomous region, industry and other art exhibitions, and won various national and local awards numerous times. Some of her works were selected for exhibition in Syria, Bahrain, Qatar, UAE and other Middle Eastern countries and Taiwan. In then year 2000, she was invited to hold an exhibition in Bologna, Italy and conduct art surveys in various European countries. In 2004, she was invited to Washington D.C, USA to attend the opening ceremony of "Ancient Road New Color, Silk Road China Western Art Exhibition" and perform art surveys in major cities in the United States.     

          Later in August 2011, she held an exhibition in Singapore and conducted art surveys afterward. From September 2011 to July 2013, she studied in the Advanced Mural Training Class of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, China. Her 2014 graduation work "Pomegranate" was selected and exhibited at the 12th National Art Exhibition and the 3rd Mural Exhibition. A 2019 mural work "Joy" was selected and exhibited at the 4th Mural Exhibition. From October 2020 to July 2021 a scholar from the department of Painting, at the Academy of Fine Arts, had visited her as a means of inspiration and revision for the future of classical oil painting. Soon after in September 2021 to July 2022 a visiting scholar from the Oil Painting Academy of the Chinese Academy of Arts had also consulted her for a revitalization project paving the way for her fellow young artists looking to walk in her footsteps. 
 

Achievements

Year of 2000: She was invited to hold a painting exhibition in International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Bologna, Italy, and created a form of art study still utilized in European countries.

​July, 2001: "Antique", "Water Grass" and "Vineyard" were exhibited at the Art Exhibition for Anniversary of Xinjiang Academy of Fine Arts.

March, 2002: The oil painting "Still Life" was exhibited at 2002 Spring Art Exhibition organized by the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Art Association. 

May, 2002: The oil painting "Harmony" was exhibited at Xinjiang Exhibition of the National Art Exhibition on Commemorating 60th Anniversary of Comrade Mao Zedong's Speech at the Yan'an Literature and Art Symposium sponsored by the China Artists Association.

November, 2002: The oil painting "Still Life" and four other oil paintings were exhibited at Art Works Exhibition on Celebrating the 16th National Congress sponsored by the Xinjiang Academy of Fine Arts.

Year of 2003: The oil painting "Antique" won the "Excellent Works Award" in the First Xinjiang Oil Painting Exhibition.
and again in the summer of 2003  The oil painting "Antique" was selected for "Join Hands in the New Century, the 3rd China Oil Painting Exhibition" and was displayed for further admiration. 

Year of 2003: The Oil paintings "Frontier Scenery Beyond that of Jiang'nan (collaborated with Kelimu) was selected for the 2nd Biennale Exhibition sponsored by the Chinese Painting Academy and was exhibited.

Year of 2004: She was invited to Washington, D.C, USA to attend the opening ceremony of "Ancient Path New Color, Silk Road Western China Art Exhibition" and made an art study in Washington, New York, and Philadelphia etc.

May 2004: The oil painting "Still Life" was selected for the First Xinjiang Sketching Works Exhibition of "Xinjiang Science and Nature".

August 2004: Oil painting "Blue Flower" was selected for "The 100th Anniversary of Deng Xiaoping's Centennial Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition" and was celebrated.

October 2004: The oil painting "Hanging Basket" was selected for the Painting Exhibition of Xinjiang Academy of Paintings.

October 2004: The oil painting "Red Grape" was revealed at a Painting Exhibition of the Xinjiang Academy of Paintings and won the Excellent Works Award.

March 2005: The oil painting "Purple Grape" was selected for the Spring Art Works Exhibition sponsored by the Xinjiang Art Association and was exhibited.

March 2005: The Oil painting "Poinsettia" was displayed at the Xinjiang Art Calligraphy Photography Exhibition.

April 2005: The oil painting "Still Life" was exhibited at the 2nd Xinjiang Oil Painting Exhibition and won the Excellent Works Award.

March 2006: The Oil painting "Gaochang Ruins" was exhibited at the Calligraphy Photography Exhibition on Celebrating the International Women's Day and won the second prize. 

April 2006: The oil painting "Ancient City" was exhibited at the "2006 Spring Art Exhibition" and won the Excellence Works Award.

April 2006: The oil painting "Ancient City" was exhibited at the National Exhibition of Art Exhibition on Commemorating the 25th Anniversary of Song Qingling's Death sponsored by the Song QingLing Foundation and won the third prize.

May 2006: The oil painting "Populus Diversifolia" was exhibited at Art Exhibition on Celebrating May Day International Labor Day and won the first prize.

March 2008: The oil painting "Still Life" was selected for the 3rd Xinjiang Oil Painting Exhibition and won the Excellence Award.

June 2008: The Oil painting "Still Life" was exhibited at "Art Works Exhibition" of Culture Art Exhibition of the International Folk Dance Festival.

August 2008: The Oil painting "Beautiful Tianshan" (in collaboration with Kelimu) ed at 2008 Olympic Fine Art Exhibition.

Abida was invited to be exhibit July 2009: She attended Art Exhibition held in Taipei, Taiwan and lead art study there.

March 2010: The oil painting "Dry Flower Series IV" was selected for "7 Textile Street Xinjiang Con- temporary Women Theme Art Exhibition" organized by Urumqi Evening News Agency.

April 2010: Two oil paintings were selected for the "Chinese Oil Painting Western Region Painting Style Works Exhibition organized by the Chinese Oil Painting Society and the Culture Department of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

October, 2010: The oil painting "Apple" was selected for Most Beautiful Place is our Xinjing, Beijing Special Exhibition of 2nd Urumqi 7 Textile Street Xinjiang Art held in Beijing, China.

October, 2010: The oil painting "Antique" was selected for the "Shanghai World Expo China Art Works Exhibition" sponsored by the China Artists Association and was exhibited.

August 2011: Four oil paintings "Still Life" etc. were exhibited in Singapore.

March 2012: The oil painting "Tajik Girl" was selected for The "Wonderful Xinjiang, Xinjiang Art Works Exhibition" jointly hosted by the People's Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and the Ministry of Culture of the People's Republic of China at the National Art Museum of China and was exhibited.

March 2014: The work "Flower" was selected for the "Chinese Dream- Xinjiang Spring Art Exhibition" hosted by Xinjiang Artists Association and was exhibited.

June, 2014: The work "Pomegranate Series I" was selected for the "First China Xinjiang International Art Biennale Exhibition" organized by the Ministry of Culture and the Xinjiang government.

September 2014: The mural work "Anar" was selected for the "12th National Art Exhibition Mural Painting Exhibition" organized by the Ministry of Culture and the China Artists Association and was exhibited.

September, 2014: The mural work "Anar" was selected for The "3rd National Mural Painting Exhibition" organized by the Central Academy of Fine Arts and the Chinese Mural Society , and was exhibited.

March 2015: The work "Love for Mother" was exhibited at the "6th Female Artists Invitational Exhibition on Celebrating International Women's Day" organized by the Urumqi Federation of Literature.

Year of 2015: The work "Fragrance in May" was exhibited at "Chinese Dream, Labor Beauty, Wonderful Xinjiang, Xinjiang Art Calligraphy Photography Exhibition" and won the first prize.

September, October, 2015: The oil painting "Red Rose" was exhibited at "Enshrouding Silk Road, Xinjiang in Paintings, Getting Near Kashgar, Enshrouding Oil Painting Exhibition" in Urumqi Art Museum and the Chinese Military Museum organized by the Xinjiang Oil Painting Society.

November, 2015: The work "ANAR-Pomegranate" was exhibited at "Reinvigorating Chinese Murals, National Tour Exhibition of the Mural Painting Art Exploration Exhibition" at the National Art Museum of China and the Cangzhou Museum organized by the Central Academy of Fine Arts and Chinese Mural Society.

March 2016: The Oil painting "White Rose" was exhibited at the "7th Female Artist Art Exhibition on Celebrating the International Women's Day" and won the third prize.

April 2016: The Oil Painting "Scenery" was exhibited at "My Chinese Dream Art Exhibition and won the Excellent Works Award"

2016 Xinjiang Spring May, 2016: Five oil paintings were exhibited at the "Chinese Dream, Silk Road Love Art Works Exhibition" organized by Xinjiang Art Academy.


August 2016: The work "Dried Flowers" was selected for the 2016 First Youth Artist Works Collection Exhibition of the National Art Museum of China and was exhibited.

October 2016: The work "Fragrance in May" was exhibited at the Excellent Works Exhibition hosted by the professional painting institutes in China's metro cities and was exhibited in Ningbo.

November, 2016: Four oil paintings were exhibited at the "Silk Road Child Innocence, Sino-Russian Culture and Art Feast Oil Painting Works Exhibition.

December, 2016: The work "Still Life" was exhibited at the "4th Xinjiang Oil Painting Exhibition".

January 2017: The work "Okra at Noon" was selected for "Beauty in the Life, National Sketching Art Exhibition" and was exhibited at the National Art Museum of China.

December, 2017: She held Solo Art Exhibition in Xinjiang Oli Tianshan Art Museum and Forty oil paintings were exhibited.

November, 2018: She held Solo Art Exhibition in Beijing 798 Art Zone Art Bridge Gallery
